About this page
Every part is generated in code from dimensions: no model files. The sheet, the case, the damper’s gap and the spring tank follow the published sizes; the frame, the arms and the driver’s bar are in proportion. The plate is drawn at its true size beside the tank, and the springs’ wire is drawn thicker than it is.
What you hear is computed. The plate’s sound is summed from about four thousand of its own modes, from the thin-plate formula for a 2 m by 1 m sheet, each fading at the rate measured plates fade at its frequency, with the damper’s share. The spring is a published model: a delay loop with a chain of filters that carries the lows faster, so each echo rises.
Some things are drawn: the sheet’s motion uses its lowest modes, slowed and hugely magnified; the damper’s gap between its two ends is drawn on a smooth scale; the pickup positions are illustrative; the kick is a model of a knock.
